It was over a year ago that Jacobs announced he would launch a cosmetics range, it is to be expected that this designer would be able to bring bold colors and his brand of humor into the cosmetics world.  Also known is that as with many of his projects, his muses and BFFs were involved, too. Sofia Coppola, Rachel Feinstein and Kim Gordon have all tried out the line; Coppola even wore a full face of Marc Jacobs makeup, with her makeup applied by makeup artist Diane Kendal, who  also consulted on the line to the Met Gala.

Jacobs told WWD that he doesn’t like naturals–”that’s a little lazy”–so don’t expect to see many nude palettes.  The collection of products has names that Jacobs  has personally put his own stamp of fun on, as with the Lovemarc gel lipstick that comes in 16 shades named after his favorite films, the eye shadow palette is called ‘Style Eye-Con’ and a blusher named after his tattoo is called Shameless.

As of his blush “shameless” Jacobs commented “Whether it’s wearing a lace dress with a pair of boxer shorts or whether it’s taking off my clothes for a magazine or whether it’s admitting to my flaws or having a hair transplant, I’m not ashamed of what I do. I haven’t done anything wrong. And I’d prefer to be honest because I sleep better at night”  and with that it’s a good night to you all, until July 19th  at Sephora.
