There’s no doubt that the Lancôme and Alber Elbaz Collection  limited edition line, which hits stores and online in mid-June, will be a sell-out. Elbaz is known for his whimsical designs and charming illustrations that both illicit a dash of wit and humor. For this line, he combines his distinctive aesthetic to dress Lancôme’s most popular eye essentials in collectable couture outfits.

There aren’t any new colors or products in this collection. Essentially Elbaz “dressed and re-styled” existing classic Lancôme palettes and mascaras–it’s all about the packaging rather than complete new palettes. Each product in the Lancôme Show by Alber Elbaz collection is cloaked in an exclusive Elbaz creation that features either doodles of red hearts, blue stars, pink dots, or green eyes.

Alber Elbaz has a gift for revealing a woman’s personality. In his words, he veils the body to unveil the woman,” said Lancôme President Youcef S. Nabi. “More importantly still, he believes in luxury that triggers joy. …Thus, for the very first time, Alber Elbaz has transposed his equation for joyful luxury to the world of makeup and has redressed Lancôme’s four iconic bestselling mascaras [and eye shadows] for the summer.”

The collection is made up of : Hypnôse Drama, a separating and volumizing formula with a convex brush; Hypnôse Star, a red-carpet ready mascara that creates ultra-defined lashes; Hypnôse Doll Lashes, a “doll lash” mascara that makes eyes appear wider and brighter; and Définicils, Lancome’s best-selling mascara features a lash-coating polymer formula and a grooved bristle brush for maximum precision.

The Color Design 5 Shadow & Liner Palettes ($51) feature a mix of soft shadows for day and smoldering, smoky shades for night, plus an intense contrast shade that doubles as liner or shadow. There’s the pink-and-black spotted Color Design Drama Palette in Taupe Craze: Finally, Alber finished off the collection with a pair of False Lashes, these come enclosed in a whimsically-illustrated collector’s case.

On June 3 prior to the collection’s launch, Lancôme is releasing a film created by Elbaz for the collection,  here is the teaser that was released earlier this year.
