Gübelin Jewellery presents a new sapphire ring from the Drops of Water line.   Gübelin Jewellery’s unique aesthetic is based on the inner world of precious gems. Delving deep into a coloured gem through the lens of a microscope, you will discover a fascinating world. You will find spectacular forms and shapes known as inclusions. They are a sign of nature’s own joy in creation and give witness to a gem’s history, how it was created, and its character. Along with the valuable information about its origin and authenticity that these traits offer to gemmologists, they are impressive for their unique aesthetic appeal.

Drops of Water

This inner beauty has inspired Gübelin designers for the Drops of Water line in creating pieces of jewellery based on microphotographs of a sapphire. This technique brings out the fascinating shapes and plays of colour which have arisen through apatite crystals, allowing designers and artisans to virtually immerse themselves into the inner life of the gems and turn their individual designs into timelessly elegant pieces of jewellery.

The white gold ring with its exquisite oval sapphire is the latest creation from this line. Inspired by microphotography, this ring was created in Gübelin’s own jewellery atelier. It includes two slightly offset diamonds that frame the stone in the middle. The central sapphire stands out through its rich, deep blue colour and its clear crystal. This particularly beautiful version is set in an elaborate ring band featuring two pear-shape sapphires, demonstrating a high degree of workmanship.

The Drops of Water line is characterised by gems with rounded shapes, be they ovals, drops or half-moons, set in delicate prongs. As centre stones for these jewellery pieces, Gübelin uses blue gems such as sapphires. As well as other coloured gems such as rubies, emeralds, violet or pink sapphires.

Deep Sea

The Drops of Water line is part of Gübelin’s Deep Sea world of jewellery, which is based on the inner world of sapphires, Paraiba tourmalines and other blue gemstones. Their spectacular inclusions are reminiscent of mysterious oceans, fairy-tale sea creatures and marvellous corals.
