Diane Kruger is the new face of Chanel skincare.  Diane Kruger has been asked by the luxury French fashion house to talk about what beauty means to her. Already having fronted a fashion campaign in 2007, for their Paris-Biarritz bag, and another for their Allure fragrance in 1996, this is her first foray into make-up for Chanel, where she’ll be joining their other beautiful ambassador, Gisele Bundchen. Diane Kruger’s first film for Chanel beauty she talks about what the famous fashion house and its beauty credentials means to her.

Here the actress and skincare ambassador opens up in the first of four films in the La Commence de Beauté campaign – translated literally as ‘Where Beauty Begins.’ “The elegance and subtlety of the house of Chanel, and the Chanel woman, is something we always dream about,” says Kruger.

But for the 37-year-old, beauty is more than just skin deep, “it’s something we earn I think; it is about a curiosity, it’s a culture, a certain strength of character,” she reveals. But Chanel she says, takes yet another approach to beauty. It’s not just in their new skin science, or their products but also in the way they so beautifully adapt to today’s woman. We eagerly await films numéro deux, trois et quatre, the second instalment due out on August 5

Kruger soon became interested in acting and took lessons at the Cours Florent. She landed some small appearances in several French films. She made her onscreen debut in 2002, oppositeDennis Hopper and Christopher Lambert in The Piano Player, a TV-movie by Jean-Pierre Roux. Her first major role was the same year when she starred in her then husband’s directorial debut Mon Idole.

In 1992, Kruger represented Germany in the Elite Model Look  and started modeling afterwards. Despite her relatively small frame for a model, she managed to add prestigious bookings such as advertisements from Yves Saint LaurentChanelSalvatore FerragamoGiorgio ArmaniJil Sander,Christian DiorBurberry, and Louis Vuitton; runway shows from Marc JacobsD&G, and Sonia Rykiel as well as appearances on the cover of Vogue ParisMarie Claire and Cosmopolitan to her modeling repertoire. She gradually stopped modeling after deciding to pursue a career in acting.
