Toni Maticevski for Sally Hansen at MBFWA 2013. Illusions of powders and musk and the visual sensory of shocking reds, purples and pinks, are exhibited and fashioned through an edited selection by Toni Maticevski for Sally Hansen. Working with an array of colours and shades Maticevski draws inspiration from the softness and lady like silhouettes of a 1950’s Grace Kelly.  To then injecting the attitude and seductiveness of Vampy Lady. THE PARTNERSHIP: Maticevski collaborated with Sally Hansen for the first time ever to create nail looks to complement his ready to wear Spring collection at this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. On the runway, Maticevski used shades from the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Collection.

Sally Hansen on working with Toni Maticevski: Toni Maticevski look was pastel, sheer and nude with a statement nail that popped on the middle finger. Using complete salon manicure, colours featured were shell we dance, pink at him, and  kook a mango. The statement contrast was a gorgeous smooth T design in either Fruitti Petutie or Purple Heart  over Shell We Dance. Simple, not complicated, hot for summer, cool for design. – Alison Bowhill-Hayes, Sally Hansen Nail Expert

Toni Maticevski on his partnership with Sally Hansen: I love the excitement and passion that has come from working with the Sally Hansen team. They are so up to a challenge and exceeding the idea. I love that drive for perfection and making a statement.  With the nail direction, we wanted to look at the incredible colours available and choose a few core colours and highlight colours and play with a vampy little motif. Clean and Beautiful. – Toni Maticevski –

Maticevski brings into play elements of his loves and makes a statement of beauty and those who absorb and radiate utter happiness. Mastering fabrications and techniques, beading and draping neoprene like the ancient marble sculptors with a clever modern touch. He instantly undertakes a classical 50’s concept and brings to life a very modern woman.

Polished to perfection Maticevski doesn’t hold back in his application of fabrics and in his finishing. Utterly elegant and sporty, with an ode to an Euro Asian feeling, Maticevski wants all women to hold their own. Through their confidence, sensuality, sex appeal and romance.

Intricate crocodile textures shimmer against pale snake and pearlised silk blends. Bonded jerseys and subtle embellished motifs of regal times debut a refreshing take on a classic.  Bold stripes are tucked and constructed with controlled abandon.  Pay attention to the detail.

Maticevski graduated from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology n Australia, winning a Fashion Group International Award, leading to an apprenticeship with Donna Karan in New York. Maticevski turned down a permanent offer with Donna Karen for a position with Cerutti in Paris, then after two seasons with Cerutti he returned to Melbourne to start his own line.
