While you would think that it was the perfect dusty rose or classic red lipstick that would fly off shelves, when it comes to trendsetting makeup brand, M.A.C Cosmetics, it’s electric purple that’s a bestseller. At first glance,  MAC  Heroine matte purple lipstick can seem intimidating. Bold purple can seem like a difficult color to pull off, but celebrities like Lorde and Rooney Mara prove that it’s certainly a wearable, red-carpet-ready shade.

When this shade launched  it just was a straight sell out, it shocked absolutely nobody that  MAC Heroine had a fan base so fast on MAC’s website. MAC Heroine has a creamy consistency that glides on well without tugging or pulling on the lips.  It has full, opaque color coverage and wears well for six hours and does leave a reddish stain behind. It’s neither drying nor hydrating.

MAC Heroine Lipstick ($15.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “bright violet/purple.” It’s a medium-dark, red-toned purple with a satin finish.  MAC Heroine was part of The MAC Fashion Sets Collection for Summer 2013 featuring four MAC Lipsticks in the four corresponding theme shades of the collection. This limited-edition collection featured matching sets of Eye Shadows, Lipsticks, Lip glasses, Nail Lacquers and Lip Pencils for a sophisticated play on monotone makeup.

The lipsticks in the collection had the standard MAC Lipstick packaging. All four lipsticks in the collection were matte, which was the best finish for these shades and MAC did a very good job with their matte formula, making them more comfortable while still being very long-wearing and richly pigmented.

its the 16th and still not in the UK very dissapointed!! I have even called mac and they said they dont know the launch date.. which is BS IMHO! so annoyed with them and release dates!! :@

For them not to know is really odd, either its yes or no. They would have a promotion and launch calender set up for all products, its sounds like a no. Why don’t you try and order it online from the US? would that be difficult sending into the UK?

Hi thanks for your reply! I just tried to add it to my cart and checkout but the only options you get are the states or canada so unfortunately no it’s not possible. I find it odd that they tell us/know when the riri viva glam collection is (Jan.21st) when that’s after the heroine launch date.. I suppose this happens with a lot of their new products, a lot of rumoured dates that Mac haven’t even said. It may just be guesses from the public? Thanks again I will keep calling them to find out!
